Even a hermit who stays all alone in a cave, even he, from time to time –once or twice a week, de pending on his needs– will go to find his Elder in order to humble himself there. Even a hermit, in the end will do whatever the Elder tells him to do, de- spite how nonsensical it may seem to him.
In the Orthodox Church everyone will be saved
through obedience to specific people.
In a manner of saying, the mother of Christ is dedicated to every one of us in order to help us fol- low and imitate her. Not only do we have God, the Son of God who wants to sanctify us, but also His mother, who was given to us.
There is no way that the Virgin Mary would re- fuse us her assistance.
