Trials and temptations are allowed to happen to people for the following reasons. For some to have their sins forgiven which they have already committed. Others to prevent them from sins they are committing now and others to prevent them from doing sins which they intend to do in the future. Finally, there are other temptations, which are sent to bring forth virtue.
