Uprooted and withered

The fear of God is the beginning of all things. Out of fear comes devotion. Out
of devotion comes renunciation and out of renunciation comes humility. From
humility is born the necrosis of the will, and from it, passions are rooted out
and withered. From the withering of the passions, virtues grow. From the
flourishing of virtues, the heart is purified. From the purification of the heart,
the perfection of Apostolic love is obtained.
