All men are created in the image of God. But “in the likeness of God” is only
given to those who with much love have enslaved their freedom to God,
because when we do not belong to ourselves, then we are like Him who
reconciled us to Himself through love. No one can achieve this unless he
convinces his soul not to be tempted by the easy glory of this world.
