What you do not like, do not do to another

One of the Elders used to say: “What you do not like, do not do to
another. Are you averse to someone saying words against you? Don't speak
ill of someone else. Are you averse to someone humiliating you, or insulting
you, or taking something from your possessions, or anything else that might
happen to you? You don't do any of those things to anyone else. Whosoever
can keep this word, it is enough for him to be saved.”
