If your enemy brings you thoughts that are incongruous and objectionable and
neglectful of your spiritual work, or anything else against the salvation of your
soul and the love of Christ and divine desire, by whatever you happen to see
or hear, because you live in the world, fight him also with the saving prayer,
with “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me”. Holy Mother of God, help me.
