Today other forms of ascetic practice, non-Orthodox and Christian,
are also advertised and promoted. Evangelical and orthodox ascetic
practice has nothing to do with the ascetic methods of the various
Eastern, Hindu sects of the yoga type, where ascetic practice is
anthropocentric in character, is an exercise of the will, and is not
being on the Cross with Christ.
