Man was created in the image and likeness of God, to be like God, that is, to be united
with Him. Man likeness to God is what the Holy Fathers call theosis. Do you see how great
is the purpose of man;s life? To become not merely better, more moral, more just, more
righteous, more noble, but God by grace.
