For his sake
Because the Holy Martyrs endured everything for the sake of our Lord and for their faithfulness to Him, the Lord provides rich gifts to those who come in faith to honor them on their feasts.
The boldness of the Holy martyr
As the soldiers, when they show their king the wounds they have received from the enemy, now converse with him with great boldness, so also the Holy Martyrs; by holding in their hands their heads, which the executioners have cut off, and showing them to the King of the Heavens, they can easily gain what they desire.
