At a factory in my village, there was a very good craftsman. He was also a kind and gentle human being. Unfortunately, he also drank and actually quite often. One day a Christian man advised him to do the following: “when the desire for drinking comes over you, repeat the Jesus Prayer (Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me) thirty-three times in honor of the Holy Trinity and in memory of the thirty-three years of the earthly life of Jesus Christ”. He listened to this advice and started practicing it. Truly, very soon he gave up drinking and was relieved from this passion.
