It is God who acts to give us a new life, but God
expects man to give his consent on his behalf. In or-
der to say “yes”, you have to stop being busy
with yourself, you have to cease justifying
yourself and you have to give up your attempts to
salvage “your assets”.
And let us not forget: instead of sitting and strug-
gling to untangle a tangled skein, we had better
throw it away.
Blessed is the man for whom this time will
come, when he will be able to throw all the things
he at- tends and pays attention to and supposedly
wants to correct, and will say “yes” to God, just as
the Virgin Mary did.
Feeling at peace somewhere, means feeling that
my soul is secure, in the sense that I am being led to
salvation.
