Saint John Chrysostom says the following: “If they ask you which one you prefer, to be able to turn grass into gold or tread over gold as if it were grass”, don’t hesitate to go for the second. We, Christians have found gold, we have found everything, we have found the Son of God, Christ; not gold but God.
As long as you live you have the full potential
–the Lord gives you this opportunity exactly by let- ting you live– to do what you haven’t done up until now: to truly repent, to truly believe in Him, to love Him, to run to Him loving him from the bottom of your heart, feeling great joy and gratitude before His goodness.
All conditions are met in order for us to open our heart, our mind, our whole being to receive the trea- sure given by God, which isn’t simply some goods; it is His own self.
