If we truly believe in our God, why remain poor? Why not decide at last to seek for the goods that are given by God? Why don’t we seek spiritual taste, the enjoyment of the Kingdom of God?
Having begged God once or twice you received no answer, and start doubting Him. That means you disbelieved. That’s why it was for the best that God didn’t give what you asked for. It was for the best that you didn’t receive any answer.
Why don’t you try again now, without any doubts or reservations, though? This is the kind of attitude the Lord has been expecting from you. And He’ll respond to your request.
God helps you feel in your heart that He wants something from you, but allows you to remain free. God doesn’t put pressure on anyone, He doesn’t blackmail anyone, He doesn’t make a saint out of someone by force. Not even the Virgin Mary did He coerce to become His mother.
