The more you obey, the more you get away from yourself and Christ makes you His own. By disobey ing and being carried away by what pleases you and accomodates your eccentricity, don’t expect to be re- deemed.
Let us make up our minds to make a little effort. Let us not tire ourselves for the sake of our egoism or the old man, but for the sake of true repentance. Let us make a little effort to tame our passions. Let us make a little effort to watch our conscience, to be careful and vigilant of ourselves.
If Christ sees that you are not afraid of being crushed, He will help you become devout and appro- priate to receive forgiveness.
